About the Studio
Studio Art de Peau was born from a love for nature, art, and timeless creation.
What started as a tattoo studio has grown into a space where art can take many forms — from ink on skin to fine art prints, apparel, and handmade treasures.
Every piece is inspired by the rhythms of nature: growth, bloom, transformation. Each design carries a story of connection, crafted with care and meant to last.
We always search for the best possible materials: from new organic and eco-friendly garments made in Belgium, to 100% cotton vintage pieces that are hand-picked for upcycling. Most creations are made in limited batches, turning every item into a little treasure of its own.
The studio is run from Belgium with a hands-on approach to every step: from sketching and lino printing to packaging your order. It’s a slow and mindful process — one that values quality over quantity, and creativity over trends.

Meet the Maker
I'm Matilde, the artist behind Studio Art de Peau.
In 2018 I started tattooing — a practice that taught me how intimate and powerful art can be when it lives on the skin. Over the years, I felt the need to let creativity grow beyond tattoos, into pieces that could also be worn, carried, or displayed in daily life.
The idea of creating clothing has always been with me — almost like a childhood dream. In 2016 I designed and printed my first sweater: a clumsy but heartfelt start that planted the seed for what Art de Peau would later become. In 2023 I opened my webshop, bringing together sustainable apparel, fine art prints and small handmade treasures under one roof.
For a long time, I was caught in the fast fashion cycle — buying too much, too quickly. Step by step, I began to realise the impact of that mindset — on myself, on others, and on the planet. That shift made me fall in love with slow fashion: creating fewer pieces, but with care, intention and respect for materials. Quality matters. I choose premium, durable blanks and eco-friendly inks; no mass production, no waste. I want you to feel the human time in each piece — to wear it hard, mend it, and keep it.
My journey as an artist has moved through many phases: from darker, surreal drawings in my teenage years to a practice today that seeks balance, growth and connection with the natural world. Nature is my greatest inspiration — the way flowers bloom, the quiet rhythm of cycles, the fragile strength in wings, leaves and patterns found everywhere around us. Travel has shaped me too. During my months in Mexico, I found myself surrounded by parrots, flamingos and sea turtles — moments that keep returning in my work and remind me to stay curious, playful and rooted.
Today I split my time between tattooing (the one-to-one connection I love) and making (the quiet hours of carving and printing). My dream is to keep both in rhythm — honest work, made slowly, with nature as the thread.
Every piece in this studio is made by hand, with intention and care. For me, the beauty lies in the details that carry the human touch: not perfect, but alive, real and lasting.
By choosing Art de Peau, you’re not just supporting an independent artist — you’re carrying a piece of nature with you, and becoming part of a vision where art and life bloom together.
